Here is a selection of photos that will bring back memories.
They are taken from magazines.
My apologies to the photographers if there are any copyright issues, just let me know
and I'll remove them from the site.
And who could forget Barry Butterworth's wonderful 1/2 mile track at Meremere in the 1980's.  I remember sunny afternoons spent watching the midgets and of course the sprintcars trying to tame this track.
Such a shame it is now a river!
So much effort by Barry, Bruce Drinkrow, Brian Tracey and many many others, all now just part of our speedway history.

A selection of photos showing what our club is all about.
If you don't like dirt in your beer and your car can turn right
then having fun with these guys is not for you !

Here is a photo of me with Bill Cosgrave. Reintroducing him to #83 some 50 years + after he drove it. Sadly Bill passed away not long after this. At least I know he got a kick out of seeing his old midget.

Well July is here so the car owners out there need to start thinking about the list of items you need to do before next season. We all know how quickly winter will go and it will be scrutineering before you know it. Better to check it out early and have plenty of time to fix it.

Here are few items to start with...

Wheel bearings cleaned and repacked.
Wheels, hubs and spindles inspected for cracks.
Rods and rod ends cleaned and checked for correct freeplay. (no binding)
Frame inspected for any cracks especially around attach points.
Engine and fuel filters replaced.
Old fuel drained. Engine oil changed.
Radiator hoses inspected. Radiator cleaned. All clamps check tightened.
Body work checked. Pay attention to Dzus fastener holes.

Don't forget your safety gear as well...When did you last check out your helmet?

And then theres the trailer.... Wheel bearings to clean and repack.
Are the WOF and Rego due?

See how the next 3 months will fly by.
